The Town Clerk keeps the town’s official records and is the place to go for licenses, certificates and paying town and county taxes.
Property taxes
Town and county tax bills are mailed at the end of December. Pay without penalty from January 1 to January 31; a 1% penalty applies in February and 2% in March. After March, unpaid taxes are collected by the County.
- In person at Town Hall during office hours, including Saturday mornings in January.
- By mail: check payable to “Maple Hollow Tax Collector,” PO Box 18, Maple Hollow, NY 14700.
- Online by card or electronic check through the town’s payment provider. The payment page is run by another company; a processing fee applies.
Dog licenses
New York requires every dog four months and older to be licensed in the town where it lives. Bring proof of rabies vaccination and, if your dog is spayed or neutered, proof of that too. Licenses are $12 for spayed or neutered dogs and $20 for others.
Certificates and licenses
- Marriage licenses: both partners apply in person with photo ID. The license is valid for 60 days.
- Birth and death certificates for events in Maple Hollow: available to the person named, a parent, spouse or child, with photo ID.
- Hunting and fishing licenses are sold online by New York State.
